Merry Christmas everyone!!!!
Tuesday, December 21st, 2010To anyone who’s bought a limited edition print or frame, been in touch on Facebook or Twitter, offered feedback or just generally been supportive – THANK YOU!!! – it’s really, really appreciated.
With regards to how things have faired over the year I really couldn’t have asked for more.
As for next year Adam and I have exciting ideas and plans:
- A new ‘Around Britain’ landscape painting of Southwold and Walberswick to compliment my North Norfolk print
- More teams to be added to the ‘More than just a game’* portfolio of teams
- They’ll be at least two brand new products that are not print specific
- And, if all goes to plan something rather special about autumn 2011. However, Adam has banned me from saying any more at this stage!
My presence on my website and blog will be reduced over the Christmas/New Year break but no doubt I’ll be popping up on Twitter every now and then if you’re missing me!
So for now all that is left to be said is to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a happy and prosperous New Year.

*Hello NCFC. I noted a similar heading and idea in your 2010-2011 season ticket bumph to my ‘More than just a game’ concept. I’m sure it is just a co-incidence… I’m flattered if so!

What a wonderful 24 hours I’m having. Just in case you do not know, my Norwich City painting was featured in Norwich’s ‘Evening News’ and on its web edition too. The article also appeared on the ‘Pink Un’ website, one of the big hitting NCFC websites. Tomorrow it is due to be featured in the ‘Eastern Daily Press’ (Friday Nov 5th).
To date I have received more emails, inquiries, general interest and (happily) sales, from this one article than any other form of the marketing mix I’ve tried. I can but hope when it appears in the EDP tomorrow this flurry of activity continues as I like this busy thing!
On Twitter I have had more ReTweets than I could ever shake a stick at including, I might add, a personal tweet from NCFC legend Iwan Roberts *sigh* wishing me luck with everything. The same spirit of bonhomie continues with Facebook where I’ve had some lovely messages.
Bottom line is one really cannot underestimate the power of local media: it still packs a punch and it’s good to know that’s still the case.
Very quickly I wanted to say a big thanks to Kimberley Briscoe for her article and to the Evening News, EDP and Pink Un for publishing her splendid words.
Finally, and most importantly, I just wanted to say a big thank you to all those that have invested their hard earned money in my work. I really am so very grateful and I hope you enjoy them as much as I enjoyed painting them.
I don’t know, one feature in the press and I’ve taken on the air of an Oscar acceptance speech winner. It won’t last, I ‘m sure.
