Definition of an ‘art print’
This term refers to the way the pictures are printed and the material they are printed on to.
All my pictures are Giclée printed (pronounced zhee-clay). This is a printing method used by artists to reproduce their work to higher standards than is normally achievable by traditional lithographic or digital printing presses. As a result Giclée printing produces images with greater depth and clarity of colour whilst also offering greater resistance to light pollution (colour fading).
Each of my Giclée prints is reproduced on high quality art paper. For my limited edition football and memorable series paintings I have chosen Somerset Velvet Enhanced 255gsm, a lightly textured, archival quality made from 100% cotton.
The combination of the Giclée printing method and this superior art paper makes it hard for the casual observer to see the difference between reproduction and the original painting.
