For the Unit 4 Group Project there is a scenario. The scenario is that the owner of Work Now, a nonprofit job referral agency, has asked a few of his employees which is my fellow group members and I for help and recommendations. In the current economy employers seeking to fill professional positions are reluctant to hire applicants direct to full-time. Instead they prefer to hire though temporary agencies such as the one we are working for in the scenario. This is so they can evaluate employees and be selective about which employees the company will hire full time. This is called temp-to-fulltime. The company I work for actually had temp-to- fulltime last year in the summer. With this said Work Now wants to not only understand this process which will help their clients, but also identify other methods by which applicants can find fulltime employment. The goal is to increase the number of fulltime hires from individuals who have contracted for Work Now’s services. Temp-to-fulltime is a great way for a company to get great employees. It allows the company to be able to pay the employees in some cases not what an actual employee would get. Also it will allow the company to be able to see how the person is going to be as a worker before they are actually going to hire them. Another way that temp-to-fulltime is a great way for a company to get employees is that by having temps they are able to rotate them until the company is able to find good candidates for the position that they may be hiring for. Also by using the temp-to-fulltime method this will make less paper work. Another reason that temp-to-fulltime is good for a company is because it will reduce the amount of bad hires. This will then show that the company will have less firing that will happen within the company because they will know what they are getting as an employee before they are actually an employee. Also by using the temp-to-fulltime method the people who are putting people in the temp position do this as their everyday job, they will find the perfect match and find someone who will fit in with the company. Helping applicants understand the trend of temp-to-fulltime is very simple. Tell them exactly what it is. Temp-to-fulltime is the task a way for a company to find a matching and qualified candidate for a business that has an open position. Also by having a temp position it will be a great experience for the type of job you were doing. Also you will be making good money with the opportunity to be able to get a position within the company as a fulltime employee when the company is ready to hire for permanent positions. This is also a good way for a person looking for a great job to be able to go out and network with different people within the companies they may be a temp for.
There are different ways for a job seeker to find fulltime employment besides temp-to-fulltime. One could be to actually create a list of employers that you may want to work for. Another would be to develop a job search tools to help you organize all of the different employers. Also by keeping in contact with people you may want to work for that may just not be hiring as of now. By doing this and having a good resume you would be able to find a great position.…...
