ASSIGNMENT 1
Topic: A process how to make good presentation for students in college.
It is truly to said that, currently, people prefer to speak than write when expressing an own idea as well as opinion about something. However, amost people do not know how to make effective presentation as sharing in front of crowded. To make our ideas get logically and clearly, you make sure that you have some internal and external skills. If I have a chance, I will share with you my own best way to get a wonderful presentation. Here are several steps that you can follow.
First of all, finding a topic as a begining step when make a demonstration. To do it well, we should indicate who is your audience? Because if we are asked by a group of people on a specific topic, actually we see that the audiences is interested in what we are going to say and let them know you have deep and large knowledge relate to current topic. Next, you will have to choose a specific and interesting topic that you intend. It can be choosing a topic that interests your audiences because joining in a presentation seemed to be hard for partly people, they will have a motivation to hear when some details are attractive or related to. You may take a topic that interests you strongly. If that topic really interests you, there also has a good opportunity that it is going to interest them. In case you do not excited about your topic, of course you lost the chance for people to pay attention. Then, you start to narrow down the topic to cover the main idea and attractive details through you work in limited time. Brainstorming wil help you solve that issue and develop all of the relavant points.
Second, here is your turns to organize the body with the main point covered. Once you choose topic above, you have a plan to show what are you going to say later under such a presure of time. The thing you have to do first is planning subpoints and supporting details. You ensure that contribute these things to make clear and unity the main point by gather necessary information and put it in a right place. Especially, the things you got have to be easy with audiences’ abilities. Then, the best way to make a logical picture of your main point is prepare an outline. To do, jot down these into “cluster” and arrange which is needed to say first and later on. Similarly, supporting details have to be organized with the first things above. It is fine when you get key words into note cards quickly. During the time you talk, remember to use transition word for connection ideas.
Third, to make your audiences remember what you have said, you should do your best on preparing conclusion as brief and carefully as you can in your own style. You can use some word to make it clear by “ in conclusion, in sum to summarize or by way of conclusion…”. Express or leave an impression in a sentence to emphasize which one is important and sum it in the most simply.
Then, instead of embarassing in the beginning of a moment, you prepare carefully for what you have to say. By catching the listener’s interest, let’s give audiences a vital reason to listen to you. In addition, make an interaction between you and yours by asking question to the audiences, you may use open, close question or both of them to inspire them. You can tell a story to illustrate your main point. Besides that, there will be a invisible barrier in during your work in demonstration if you carefully talk to the audiences directly or ask question to make an active atmostphere.
Next, that is the time for you to use own soft skills by eye-contact, body language, volume of voice when discover something you want to make clear. It could be use a maker to express, or use power point to show it well, a several of image or poster also bring you to succeed.
Finally, now you have enough conditions to show off you abilities by speech. At this time, make sure to practise more times combine between lecture and skills. During doing demonstration, let the audiences understand clearly each step, try to speak slowly that people can follow easier.
With six step mentioned above, it is not only helpful for you but also foreveryone. You should practise more and more, try your best to complete fully the presentation. I do hope that, with a little things I have shared with you, you will be confident when speak in front of crowded and show off you own style at college as well as future way,…...

Eating Habit

...EATING HABITS Why do people eat? People eat to survive. Food people eat gives their bodies the energy they need to function. Eating, as a daily activity, is done so many times that could form some eating habits. People say that the current eating habits of a person reflect all of his childhood’s comestible way. Eating habits are a part of a person’s characteristics and an unchanged process over the time. However, I think this concept is not applicable in my case. In my childhood, I always took away any green leaves in my bowl and recognized them as the horrible ingredients. I also ignored the spicy meals which burned my tongue and the tasteless frozen food as all kids did. However, over the time I definitely changed my edible pattern from a child with appreciating vegetables, enjoying spicy taste, and adapting frozen meals. First, my eating habits have been changed from a leafless eater to a green vegetable fan. When I was young, my mom always cooked Pho for me and my father in two separated way. For my dad, my mom made him a large bowl of Vietnamese style beef noodle with all the herb ingredients and fresh vegetable. For me and my little brother, my mom made others bowls without any vegetable element. I recalled she served me the unique Pho with only thick noodle, sliced chicken meat and hot brown soup. My grandma always kept complaining to her about my unhealthy carnivorous diet, but my mom couldn’t tolerate her children eat food they disliked. For such a long time until...

Eating Habits

...Eating Habits According to Dr. Veugelers Students who ate an adequate amount of fruit, vegetables, protein, fiber and other components of a healthy diet were significantly less likely to fail a literacy test. While a healthy diet is generally assumed to be important for good school performance, there has actually been little research on this topic, Veugelers and his colleagues note. To investigate, they looked at 850 college students participating in the Students’ Lifestyle and School-performance Study, 475 (19.1 percent) of whom had failed a literacy assessment. The better a student's eating habits based on several measures of diet quality, including adequacy and variety, the less likely he or she was to have failed the test, the researchers found, even after they adjusted the data for the effects of parental income and education, school, and sex. Eating plenty of fruit and vegetables, and getting fewer calories from fat, was also associated with a lower risk of failing the test. Source: Dr. Paul J. Veugelers of the University of Alberta in Edmonton. Journal of School Health, April 2008. According to Monique Barb (2008), that there are lots of young people are observant in the new products on the market. People don’t choose the food by its taste but by commercial. Because of the commercialized products we cannot focus on what to buy because people are attracted to it. They don’t care about much of the content and having a healthy body is having a good academic......

Design: Items for the measure were selected from a larger pool on the basis of responses from a pilot study. The 23-item checklist was validated using measures of dietary fat and fibre intake, fruit and vegetable consumption, dietary restraint, nutrition knowledge and a measure of family income. Setting: Participants came from seven secondary schools in the north-west of England. Subjects: A total of 1822 adolescents aged between 13 and 16 y took part in the study, representing 84% of those invited to participate. Results: Correlations between measures indicate a good level of convergent validity, and the checklist is also shown to have high internal and test – retest reliability. Conclusions: The focus on choices available to adolescents means that the checklist will provide a useful addition to food frequency-type approaches to the measurement of adolescent eating behaviour. Sponsorship: This research was funded by the Medical Research Council and the Economic and Social Research......

Eating Habits

...A serious concern nowadays is how our eating habits can affect our health. In particular, it has been demonstrated that eating too much junk food can lead to health issues later in life. One sensible suggestion for dealing with this is to improve the level of health education so that we eat better and live longer. Focusing on health education is an appropriate measure. This would address one underlying cause of the problem. It is clear that there is a connection between what people know about nutrition and their eating habits. For example, children who have learned in school about the need to have a varied diet with plenty of vitamins tend to eat more healthily. In contrast, people who have not had this education still eat too much junk food and as a result suffer from diabetes and other diseases. Better health education, however, is not a complete answer. It ignores the wider social factors that cause people to eat unhealthily. For instance, many people eat fast food because they have a lifestyle that means they do not have time to sit down to a proper meal. Again, other people might eat burgers and pizzas because they are seen to be cool and they want to impress their peers. There would not appear to be any simple way to deal with these social factors. A difficulty is that it is very hard for governments to make a difference to the individual choices people make. It might help, however, to ban advertisements for unhealthy foods on television and to require companies to...

Rather it’s about feeling great having more energy stabilizing their mood and keeping them self as healthy as possible. Because the feeling of fulfilment after eating rice, their staple ingredient, is relatively short- lived, they eat three meals a day and two snacks in between. Filipinos, especially country folk, rise early. Some will eat a Segundo almuerzo (second breakfast) around 10:30, plus a merienda, or mid- afternoon snack. Rural folk eat their main meal at midday, while city dwellers emphasize the evening meal. This study is written to help Batangeños to become aware about how they eat. Bahamian Eating Habits

...through the attitude of its people, dress, music, art and food. As Bahamians food plays an important and unique part in our social interactions and defining us as Bahamian. In fact, a popular Bahamian song insists that while visiting the Bahamas you must “try some conch, peas ‘n’ rice and guava duff” which are all delicious native delicacies. Even though it is great that we embrace and love this aspect of our culture this attitude has a negative effect on our eating habits. Eating habits are the way a person or group eats (Collins English, 2013). When looking at a person or groups eating habits one must consider what types of food are consumed, how the food is prepared, the quantities of the food eaten and when it is eaten.  The Social Aspect of Eating To live and grow humans must eat daily. However, for Bahamians the consumption of food is not just a means for nourishment but an occasion. Regattas, holidays and family gatherings, like funerals and baby dedications, provide the opportunity to indulge in our eating. In fact, the “eats” after and during these occasions are anticipated and enjoyed more than the actual events. During social gatherings food is present and eaten in colossal amounts. A typical Bahamian Christmas dinner consists of baked ham, turkey with stuffing, peas ‘n’ rice, yam, sweet potato, baked macaroni and cheese, potato salad, coleslaw and desserts. Alcoholic beverages, sugary drinks (like switcha) and sodas are consumed in abundance as......

...CHAPTER 14 Motivation for Eating and the Nutrition Transition in the Philippines Steven R. Hawks, Hala N. Madanat, TeriSue Smith and M. Lelinneth B. Novilla INTRODUCTION To a large extent, the growing epidemic of global obesity can be explained by rapid changes in dietary patterns that are taking place in both developed and developing societies (Rigby et al., 2004). Specifically, traditional diets that were rich in grains, fiber, fruits and vegetables, are giving way to modern diets that are high in fat, sugar, and sodium (Popkin, 1994). The United States, as one example, progressed through the nutrition transition over a period of approximately 100 years and has now fully transitioned from a traditional to modern diet (Popkin, 2001a). Currently, the U.S. diet derives approximately 33% of calories from fat (Popkin et al., 2001) and the U.S. has achieved one of the highest levels of obesity in the world (23.5%) (Flegal et al., 2002). The prevalence of American obesity continues to climb at alarming rates (a 55% increase between 1980-1994) (Mokdad et al., 2003). Other countries are going through similar nutrition transitions, but at accelerated rates and often with more harmful results (Popkin, 2002). The global epidemic of overnutrition and obesity poses one of the major public health challenges of the coming century (James, 2004). It has been argued that the nutrition transition is an expected consequence of the demographic and economic changes that accompany development......

Good Eating Habit

...Good Eating Habits Below are 8 dietary habits, which you should follow: 1. Never Overeat: Overeating is one of the most common and dangerous dietary habits. It often leads to obesity, which is a factor in many other diseases. When you eat more, the digestive tract and other organs get stressed, which can lead to the overworking and weakening of those areas. Always eat in moderation. In fact, eating small meals several times a day instead of one or two large meals is probably better for most people. 2. Never Under Eat : All forms of under eating like skipping meals, or eating only limited foods will lead to poor nutrition. Which will eventually lead to health problems due to protein, calorie, vitamin, or mineral deficiencies. Under eating causes symptoms like lack of energy and subsequent weakness, malnourishment of internal organs, skin problems, and hair loss, apart from medical conditions like anorexia, nervosa and bulimia. So, even if you are on a diet make sure you follow a plan that does not starve you. 3. Never Eat Late: Grandma's habit of eating dinner before sundown is actually a very healthy practice. It is best to eat earlier in the evening, ideally before dark, and not too heavily. You should also engage in some activity, both mental and physical, after dinner; and eat very little in the two or three hours before bedtime. If you have been going to bed on a full stomach, let me tell you it is a very unhealthy......

Eating Habits

...plays very big part in my life because a lot of my day consists of thinking about or eating food. I relish the thought of eating my favorite foods when I'm starving and even when craving. Although you can live several weeks without food, I wouldn't be able to survive one day without food. It has become an essential part of my life. This is the case not only because unlike most people, I constantly think about food and have a very high metabolism. With a high metabolism I can eat and three hours later I'm hungry again. Without food your mental and physical capabilities will deteriorate rapidly, and you will become weak. I take pleasure in eating various types of food among my favorite foods are pizza, lasagna, chicken wings, waffles, ice cream, and Biryani. Generally speaking any food with cheese in it is my kind of food. I particularly enjoy the way pizza feels in my mouth because it's chewy and easy to swallow. Being anemic my doctor recommends me to eat fish and liver because I lack iron. Truthfully speaking I can't stand fish and liver because of there distinct odor. I prefer sticking iron pills down my throat. I would like to find another natural source of iron in food so that I can never forget to eat it because I enjoy it like my favorite foods. My least favorite food would have to be salad and vegetables. Even though it may be healthy I hate everything about it, from its appearance to the way it tastes. It taste like leaves and it looks like grass. If it wasn't for......
