...Personal Responsibility Rough Draft An individual’s personality is made up of many different parts including personal responsibility. This can arguably be the most important part of one’s character because it can reveal who they really are. My level of personal responsibility shows to others the importance I place on every facet of my daily life. These can range from my ability to cope with rapid change, the importance I place on my education, and my level financial responsibility. These daily events, along with many others, require a great deal of personal responsibility. I believe that taking responsibility for my obligations not only shows others what kind of person I am, it also boosts my self-esteem and puts me at peace. Most people, including students, teachers, and others who work with deadlines know the relief that can only be felt when a large assignment or project is completed. Being responsible for my assignments, tasks, and other daily burdens rewards me with a strong sense of accomplishment, followed by peace of mind. Obtaining a college degree is undoubtedly one of the truest tests of endurance and dedication. Though most undergraduate students obtain their degree in four years, it can be completed in as little as three years. This is a prime example of benefiting from a strong sense of personal responsibility. A successful college career is the ultimate test of responsibility, consisting of strict deadlines and difficult exams with little to no......

...adults. Both learning experiences will prove beneficial to the adult learners. Considerations are taken for the adult learners having other obligations and responsibilities. Adult learners want to return college using stimulation centers to help gain practical knowledge. Reflection I often wonder if college life would have been different if I had returned earlier in life. There are so many aspects one has to think about before finally making the decision to return to school. This course has made me realize that I should have made this decision long before now. I have already discovered that strategies must be developed in order to be successful in school. I always thought that the young adults would have more problems in continuing their education than the older adults. When I think back, it would have been better for me to return to school earlier. Now that I am older I have family issues, aging parents as well as health challenges. With all the daily issues, it is harder to comprehend. Time management seems to be one of the greatest challenges. With the assistance and encouragement of my teachers I get a feeling of yes I can obtain my degree. It is obvious why some adult learners go back to school with the loss of their former job and the closing of so many factories. I live in a small town where the majority of the job force were factories and warehouses. Workers have returned to school because they had no other......

Overall for trade unions, governments could possibly change the law and make it easier to form unions, which will indefinitely lead to an increase cost from firms, which rely on workers as a large percentage cost, so employee power is increasing. Cars lasting longer are another threat. Competing brands are a major current issue for GM. One main issue recently was the rejection of the company’s restructuring plan that led to bankruptcy court after its creditors went south on write downs. President Obama forced out GM’s chief executive, Rick Wagoner, in March 2009 due to this issue. President George W. Bush passed on the loan in December 2008, that granted the former chief executive 9 billion dollars in federal aid. The bankruptcy process was over on July 10, 2009, when GM sold its good assets to a different government company. But no they chase me, I didn’t run very far before I saw a cave. I began to sprint towards my point of safety. Before I dive into the cave I got a glimpse at an ancient scripture above the entrance ‘Only the chosen may enter’ signed by Ra him self. I skid to an abrupt stop to consider what that meant. I was deep in the cave and very much lost, I wonder around and found a great Iron door. It took all my pathetic strength to open one door, and when I did I fell to one knee and couldn't breathe but then I realized it was because I was in shock. For what laid out before me was something no man ever seen before. What lied ahead of me was a giant throne, it wasn’t just the fact the throne was made out of diamond. I believe that God is the person who created me and he is the person I believe in. I also think that God is the creator of the world and that has control over everything that happens in my life. I think that some of God’s characteristics are that he has the ability to make things happen. I think that he makes certain things happen for a reason. I also believe that one of God’s characteristics is to be there for you in your time of need. I believe this because god knows what you can and cannot do. God is not going to give you something that he thinks that you are going to fail at, I believe that he is going to challenge us a human beings but I believe that he is going to challenge us with things that he knows that we can do. ...Case 12-9: Rough Waters Ahead 1. How should Smooth Sailings’ management perform the recoverability test for the cruise ship as of December 31, 2010? a. What assets and liabilities should be included in the “asset group” as defined by ASC 360-10 for purpose of performing the recoverability test? i. FASB ASC paragraph 360-10-35-23 states that for measuring an impairment loss, long-lived assets should be group with other assets and liabilities at the lowest level for which identifiable cash flows are largely independent of the cash flows of other assets and liabilities. ii. As a result, I’ve decided to include the cruise ship in the asset group, because it’s an asset that we’re performing the recoverability test for. I also decided to include net working capital of $0.1 million, because net working capital is often included in asset groups. However, I did not include the nonrecourse debt of $4.0 million because its cash flows are too debt on the asset itself. Furthermore, FASB ASC paragraph 360-10-35-27 states that long-term debt should be adjusted before testing the asset for recoverability. Total = $4.7 mm b. How should the multiple operating scenarios impact the recoverability test? iii. FASB ASC 360-10-35-30 states that when multiple courses of action are considered to recover the carrying amount of a long-lived asset (asset group), then the likelihood of each of these situations should be considered, and a probability-weighted approach should be useful. It is......

...A great thing about people is the fact that they are all different. Each person has different backgrounds, experiences, and opinions. A lot of these experiences are what create the adults, professionals, and students they are today. To define an individual’s ethical code are sources which include parents, own experiences, and society. Parents can be a major source for ethics and values because they are there from childbirth to another eighteen years. “The people you spend the majority of your formative years with are going to be the biggest influence on you” (Hodge, 2010, para.1). This statement can be agreed with because the majority of people have similar opinions about colleges, sports teams, and politics as their parents. Having ones own experiences will be another influence on creating a code of ethics and values. If a person grows up with poor life choices and even poorer morals then the result will typically be poor beliefs. The author, Cody Hodge, states “we all have to use our own time on the Earth as a guide and us that when we are making decisions in life especially at work” (2010, para.3). Society has a funny way of determining what is right or wrong. Laws and codes are set up for this purpose but it is not society that chooses which laws or codes to follow. Starting a new job and entering a new workplace will make an employee aware of what acceptable behavior is and what is not. Following these rules is determined by the individual and following these......

...for using WritePoint. There are many benefits of both online and traditional school. The material covered in online courses vs traditional school courses is basically the same, but the environment and the way courses are presented is different. The traditional learning environment consists of a classroom with almost thirty students with one teacher, and about forty five [Express numbers higher than nine in digits (if not the first word in the sentence)] minutes to get through the days’ work.
