Radio Frequency Identification, or RFID, is a rising technology in today’s electronic world. The usefulness of RFID is becoming more apparent as humans move to become detached from the world of wired electronics. One of the latest trends in “wireless” technologies is the use of Global Positioning Systems, or GPS, in automobiles. Systems like these allow the driver to easily navigate roads to reach their destination. However, services like those rely on good satellite communications and cost a daily fee. Our proposal is the establishment of a roadside system based on RFID technology that will allow drivers the same services that a GPS system can provide in a much cheaper and efficient approach.
