Dear Sir/ Madame,
I am writing on behalf of the Students` Council body for the 2012-2013 academic year. As an assiduous and determined group we have great plans to improve the outlook that both students and staff have of the Students` Council body by putting great effort into improving, to the best of our abilities, this noble institution. As you are well-aware technology is now the order of the day and as such, in order to successfully execute plans one need not only to be technologically competent, but must also be equipped with the necessary technological devices. Presently, the Student Council room is void of a computer to assist us whereas paperwork is concerned. This proves to be a major setback as one of our main objectives is the initiation of a school newsletter. We are dedicated to the process of making this happen but we need your help. It is, therefore, up on the advice of our academic advisor, Mr. Fleher, and our principal, Dr. Samuels, that we approach you requesting a computer, whether new or used, to be placed in our office. Your donation will bring us closer to our goal.
Thank you in advance for your consideration. We await your timely response.
Yours truly,

Dear Dr. Harris, The Students` Council body, for the 2012-2013 academic year, has many ambitious plans for embarking on new projects which we believe will positively impact the school community- both students and teachers alike. Like all other active bodies, in order to make improvements money is an important resource to have access to. As it is, we are currently low on funds. We are therefore, at the moment, embarking on some small projects such as the hosting of movies on the school grounds in order to acquire the funds needed for our ambitious ventures. We are aware that we are entitled to Student Council funds that constitute a part of the school fee of each student of the institution. As such, we kindly request that these funds be turned over to us at your earliest convenience. Thank you in advance.
Yours truly,

Unix Permissions

...Running head: UNIX PERMISSIONS CONTROL UNIX Permissions Control UNIX provides file permissions on several levels. By user ID group membership or association. Administrators can add delete or change file permissions. These permissions and other control information are stored in the inode. One example is FreeBSD which identifies access mode, owner, and group-access identifiers, file creation and update history. Size of file is also identified along with block pointer and block size identifying number of blocks used for file. File characteristics with user settable flags and kernel are identified too. Generation number and file system block size are also identified. UNIX utilizes a file access control scheme developed in earlier versions. Users are identified by typical user identification through number assignment. Users are also assigned to a primary group and maybe other groups too. This is done through the use of a group ID. Upon file creation these relationships are established. The owner ID and group ID are contained with 12 protection bits in the inode. Nine of the 12 bits establish read, write and execute permissions. At the directory level this grants read, renaming, and delete capabilities. Utilizing the execute bit the right to search the directory is accomplished. The remaining three bits are utilized to set user ID (SETUID) and group ID’s (SETGID) (Stallings, 2012, 558). When users with execute privileges access a...

...My Technical Writing Company 55 North Letter Way, Anaheim CA 92801 September 06, 2010 Microsoft Corporation One Microsoft Way Redmond, WA 98052-6399 Subject: Request to Use Screen Shots of Microsoft Products in User Manual Dear Sir/Ma’am: I am writing to ask permission to use screen shots of your software in order to create an illustrated user manual. I will be using the Microsoft Office Professional Academic 2010 and will be using screen shots of your products, with your permission, in order to make the manuals I am creating easier for people to follow and better understand. I would like to use screen shots in my manual to help explain any written text with images, as images are often easier to understand with written text. While the text will give them step by step instructions of the procedures, the images will be used to show them what to look for, so hopefully they will be able to better follow the procedures and make sure they are using the software correctly. Being able to see exactly what should be done will help make the users of the manual more efficient and less frustrated. I believe that doing so will improve the users experience with your product, and make them more willing to try Microsoft products in the future. I would like to thank you for your consideration on this matter. If you require any further information please contact me by email at sjatkin@email.phoenix.edu or by phone at (555)555-5555. ...Alexus Harris January 26, 2010 History 114 2:00 - 2:30 p.m Willie Lynch Letter: The Making of a Slave In the first paragraph of the Willie Lynch Letter introduction, he started thanking the men of the colony of Virginia for inviting him to the bank of the James River. Mr. Lynch was making the men of the plantation think that, installing the chip into the slaves will make everything run easily. He also stated that if the chip were implant into the minds of slaves, Ancient Rome would envy us as black people. Personally, I think the only reason that the Ancient Rome will envy us as slaves, because we let a method of the chip control our mind, body, soul, values, and beliefs. Mr. Lynch also stated that negative differences are better then positive differences. Just think about it. Why? Would Distrust be better then Trust, this is setting our slaves up to be lynch in my eyes. As a slave, you want freedom so; you are going to want your master to trust you so that you can escape. Mr. Lynch finally, said that over time if you constantly used the method for one year, then slaves will already no what they are expecting to perform. In the paragraph “Let’s Make a Slave,” it was focusing on the process of man breaking and slave making. This means that installing the chip into our black men will allow them to become more of a servant that helps the white man lynch other slaves. It also focused on human nature, and slave nature. Permissions Oversight and Overview

...Permissions Oversight and Overview Kelly O’Neil CIS332 Strayer University Professor Russell Wilson November 2, 2014 I have been contracted to explain the importance of setting resource permissions on the network of a medium sized company in the local area. Prior to beginning the preparation of the presentation I was approached by a senior company official and informed that an employee recently stole data from the company. The senior official also explained that the company does not have permissions or resource segregation set up on the network. Further, there are numerous file servers in the network that have full control permissions set for the “everyone” group. First and foremost it is imperative that everyone know and understand the importance of setting permissions on data contained on the company network. These permissions extend from computers and hard drives down to individual files. Each and every user on the network must be assigned specific permissions that pertain to their job. In order to safeguard sensitive data, it is necessary to ensure only those employees with a “need to know” will have access to certain data to perform their job. If an employee’s job is primarily data input, they will not need to access data pertaining to a customer’s personal information. By creating groups of users in the network it is possible to simply and easily control the access to certain information on the network. There are just a few basic user groups that......

The Letter a

...I constructed the letter A. The way I built my letter resembled an isoceles triangle. My letter has two sides that are the same length and two of base angles are the same in length. The definintion of an isoceles triangle is a triangle with two sides of equal length and two congruent base angles. The letter A I built and isoceles triangle are almost a perfect match. Another geometry concept that connectes with my letter, A was an acute angle. An acute angle is an angle that is less than 90 degrees. The triangle inside the letter A I constructed has an acute angle. The triangle has 3 angles that are acute all are less than 90 degrees and will add up to 180 degrees. The final concept I thought my letter connects with is parallel lines. The two lines in the center of the letter A are parallel to eachother, the two lines will never cross eachother or intersect. Parallel lines are lines in a plane that will not touch, cross, or intersect even when the lines are extended. The two lines in the center are not the only ones that are parallel to each other, the one line on top of my letter and the other thats on the bottom are also parallel. Those are the three geometry concepts I thought my letter connected with. My first semester of geometry did not go as well as I would have liked it to go. I failed most of the tests and quizzes because I was not responsible and did not do the homework assigned and study the reviews given. Despite all my failures this semester I always went to......
