Chronic Disease Assessment.

Breast cancer is a chronic disease that I have chosen. Breast cancer is one of the most common cancers found in women, besides lung cancer. Which are the number one cancers that kill more women than breast cancer per year? Breast cancer kills about 35,000 women a year. Breast cancer is a growth. That begins in the tissue of the breast. There are two types’ main types of breast cancer. Ductal cancer. This starts in the tube that moves milk from the breast to the nipple (duct), and Lobular cancer that starts in the part of the breast that produce milk.
There are symptoms you want to watch for.
-Swollen lymph nodes under the collarbone or under the arm.
- Your breast feeling warm, firm, and harder. That’s not cause by menstrual.
-Change in breast size, skin color, and itching breast.
- Nipple discharge is a symptom that you must watch for. The discharges include clear fluid, milk like fluid, and even blood.
This is why it’s important to get your mammogram done, and to know your body.
A risk factor of the disease is behavior. Behavior is a major contribute to breast cancer by 60%. Some reproductive risk factors to look at are.
-Being older when giving birth to your first child.
-Using hormone replacement or long term use of hormone replacement.
- Not giving birth, or breast feeding.
-Being overweight and family history. Genes are less than 15% to donate to the cause of breast cancer. The environment is about 30%. Between your life style choices and the environment impacts your risk of having breast cancer. The recurrence is between 25 and 50 percent after successful treatment.
Life style choices that I would make in my life to decrease my modifiable risk factor for this disease? I would try to continue to eat healthy and drink plenty of water. I wouldn’t consume more than one alcoholic beverage per day. I would change my eating habits. Learn my foods. What’s healthy? What’s not? Learning and knowing how much serving of what is necessary of what food group per day. A major life style choice that I would make is getting my breast examine or a mammogram done between 1-3 years. To be certain that everything checks out. Other risk factors that I can do, Is learning my family history. This is very important not just to detect breast cancer, but any other disease that can be prevented. Controlling my weight and exercising is one. This one I have to work a little harder on. I don’t want to just maintain weight, but being fit and active is what will help from the risk of breast cancer and any other chronic disease. I believe that exercise and meditating the mind are helpful ways to prevent disease. It keeps your mind stress free and your breathing tips to open your air ways are good technique to keep the body healthy. I would do yoga to target certain areas within my chest for exercise to keep my muscles flexible and in shape. Breast cancer is chronic diseases that can occur anytime. Keeping yourself healthy and in shapes is the key for prevention.…...

Social Media and Business Ethics

...Social Media’s Impact on Business Ethics Introduction: The discussion of ethical problems associated with social media in the workplace is a relatively new occurrence. Approximately ten years ago technology entered a new phase evolving from the internet and email to an entirely different era (Ramos-Hernadez, 2007). Suddenly people who normally worked a 9 to 5 shift leaving work to transition into their personal lives. Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, and Flicker to name a few changed all of that (Ramos-Hernadez, 2007). People who ordinarily kept a strict barrier between the two worlds were putting all sorts of their personal information out in the open for all to see. The data for all to see included not only the intended recipients, but their employers or most important perspective employers. Horror stories immediately started to pop up all over the world. People were being fired because their boss saw vacation pictures from Cabo when you had taken time to go see your ailing grandmother. The pictures from your freshman year in college showed up on a friends account and subsequently took you out of the running for your dream job or promotion. The technology literally erased any expectation of keeping your business and personal lives separate if you chose to participate in social media circles. New Employee Categories Recent studies have been led by the Ethics Resource Center (ERC) one of the oldest non-profit organizations in the U.S. that has historically been dedicated...

Social Media Marketing for Business

...Social Media Marketing for Business What’s the movement in business today? It’s social media of course!  What’s the most underrated trend in business today? It’s social media of course! Traditional marketing focused on push advertisements. The “in-your-face” advertising that continually pushed brands in buyers’ faces. Those days are gone now. The rules have changed and marketing is no longer based on one-way interruption.  David Meerman Scott says, “One-way interruption messaging is yesterday’s message (Scott, 2010, p. 7).” It is now collaboration. Social media is where buyers are spending their time one and where savvy businesses are engaging with consumers.
