...Mother… This word associates with something sweet, tender, nice and merciful. We are born little and defenseless to this world and at once we submerge in the heat of her love and anxiety. We listen to her soft voice while she sings songs over our beds and calm down. The great number of dear to the heart words can be said about mothers. She’s the only one person who will understand and forgive everything. The mom’s kiss will heal all the wounds – either psychological, or physical. In the mother’s look you will never see falseness or cunning, as it always radiates bigheartedness, compassion and sincerity. It seems that your mother’s eyes can see you through and read your soul. Her smile will be recognized among all the other smiles in the world. The way your mother treats you in your childhood will shape your character and influence your world outlook a lot. When you are grown-up and face some issues at work, you will imagine what your mother would do in this situation; and it helps you a lot. In the most complicated situation you can ask for advice from your mother and she will be more than happy to answer and help you. She is your most sincere and true assistant. Unfortunately, not all the relationships between mothers and their children are as afore said. Some mothers are unable to understand how important their influence on their children is and lose the connection with their children. In my opinion, it is the worst thing for any mother. In order not to lose the......

...affected me everyday. My mother, by far, has had the greatest impact on my life. Her heart and determination are something that I can only hope to have myself one day. I have watched her struggle with running a household while trying to balance returning to college full-time and working a part-time job. I did not realize as a young child what courage it took to take on this workload. Now, as I enter the college scene directly from high school, I cannot imagine how hard it must have been to juggle the everyday work of being a full-time mother as well as the workload of college. She never hesitated to drop everything to rush my brother and me to dance, soccer, riding, or karate. I could always look up from the sidelines of a game to see her cheering me on, while she held an armload of books and tried to occupy my brother. My mother has shown me that with determination and perservance one can accomplish anything. As the years passed, she could be found studying for a test while sewing the sequins on my dance recital costume. She finally graduated four years later, summa cum lauda from Keene State. Now she was faced with the task of finding a job, which proved to be even more difficult than receiving her degree. When she finally landed a job about a half hour away, never did she complain about the ride or the terrors she encountered in the classroom. She worked hard every day to provide her classroom of children the best education possible. I have seen my mother give up......

Mother

...One of the most important people in everyone’s life is our mother. Before birth, their body was in pain to carry us in their wombs for about nine months. They vomited their food, they suffered from headaches, and felt the weakness of their body every morning. But because they are mothers, they never complain. They make all these sacrifices wholeheartedly without anything in return. Being a mom is not a job. For me, it is the most wonderful part of being a woman. It is something you learn as you go and constantly striving to be a better person for your child. Our children are our future so we have to do our best at raising them to be the best people they can be. It has the challenges especially in these difficult economic times. It’s hard to maintain the happy and secure home their children are used too. It’s hard to keep them out of all the stress of difficult financial situation without making them insecure or worried. Our mother is the one who changed our diapers, stayed up late for us and sacrificed everything she had just for us. She often takes the fallout for the toddler tantrums and the teenage angst. Despite that, she generally loves her children no matter what they do. We sometimes extol our mother’s sacrifices from when we were infants, yet, we cannot describe her “real” sacrifices and hardships unless we experience them. They care for us as if we are golden treasures that they are eager to protect us from harmful humans and incidents. In the middle......

...to the love that a mother feels for her children. Most women are inherently excellent mothers. Women carry their young before they are born and then continue to nurture them throughout their childhood and even into adulthood. Mothers make sure that their children are safe and happy throughout their childhood. It is the unconditional love that a mother feels that drives these feelings. It is hard to describe the feeling that a mother has towards her children. In fact, most people do not understand unless they become a mother themselves. Raising children comes with its own share of frustrations, from the needy new born baby that requires regular care to the sullen teenager, a mother's job is anything but easy. A famous saying states that "God could not be everywhere and so he invented mothers", these words are a great inspiration to mothers across the world. When all is well, a mother puts her children before anything else, including their own comfort and happiness. Mothers give an awful lot of support to their children, whether it involves very visible support or simple background encouragement. Not only do mothers support their children, but they also often hold the whole family structure together. This role is not always plain sailing. A mother can also be upset or hurt. Remember that a mother often takes the fallout for the toddler tantrums and the teenage angst. Despite this, mothers, generally, will love their children no matter what they do. ...Families are thus the building blocks upon which rests the fate of society. For the development of good families, a mother plays a vital role. Mothers have a lot of responsibilities, from the beginning of making a family until the time when her children are old enough to be independent and make their own families. However, life is not easy nowadays. Earning money is difficult that is why a lot of mothers chose to work. Unlike before where only men or fathers earn in a family, on this generation it is very common that mothers are also working in order for their own families to have a better future. In line with this, education can be of great help for mothers to get a better job. Because better job means bigger salary especially when the degree they got is very in demand nowadays or in different countries where the offer is nicer. Education also helps mothers to get a better position in the company which may give them benefits of earning enough money for the budget of the family. These women are strongly motivated by the desire not only for personal achievement but also to create an opportunity for a better future for their children. For them, with a valuable certificate or degree in hand, they will be highly equipped and have the credentials to earn a family-supporting wage and opens a lot of doors for many other career opportunities and advancements. Working mothers nowadays are now taking the “multi-tasking” to another level. They juggle work, education, childcare and......

Quote By Mother Teresa: “There is always the danger that we may just do the work for the sake of the work. ...play a large role in who we are today, and who we will be in the future. The biggest influence may come from our family; my mother is mine. She taught me everything from how to eat healthy and dress myself, to how to react to any situation. She taught me little things like how to tie my shoes and to be polite and respectful to adults. I would be lost without my mother, I can trust her, and she’s really important to me. Here’s why: She Listens to Me My mother is my security blanket. No matter how bad of a day she had, she will always be there to listen to me. I talk to her about everything — even things that aren’t always easy to talk about, like my period. Even if she's been screamed at by my siblings all day, she will still be eager to hear me squeal over my drama-filled teenage gossip or vent about how overwhelming life can be. She puts up with my mood swings, my constant chatter and my continuous requests — and still manages to keep our home, and everyone in it, in order. She Calms Me Down Whenever something becomes too much for me, she is there calming me down — giving me a hug and telling me it’s going to be OK. She can even prevent me from hyperventilating by finding my “lost” textbook (it was, of course, in the open, in the first place I checked). No matter what the scenario is, my mother always makes me feel better. And she does this all with a smile — even when I forget to say thank you....

...Mother The poem “Mother” is a song written by the British band Pink Floyd, and it appears for the first time on their album “The Wall” from 1979. The poem is about a guy who’s got a very overprotecting mother. His mother wants to interfere in everything in her son’s life, and therefore he doesn’t get to do anything by himself. He doesn’t get to develop. The themes in the poem “Mother” is development, adolescence & the “mother to son”-relationship. The poem isn’t shaped like a normal song. It contains four verses, where the first and the third verse, plus the last sentence are the son talking to his mother, and where the second and the fourth verse is the mother talking to her son. In the first verse, the son asks his mother seven questions about the outside world. The mother replies to him in the second verse, where she is telling him that she is going to take care of him (“Momma's will keep Baby cozy and warm.”) They keep on communicating with each other all the way through the poem. It also says in the second verse, that “Momma's gonna make all of your nightmares come true. Momma's gonna put all of her fears into you” I interpret that as a very overprotecting mother, who always keeps everything that she think is dangerous away from her child. In that way, the child won’t get the experience that he needs to be an independent person, so he’ll take over his mothers fears, when he grow older. In the third verse, the boy is telling his mother about a girl. He is worried that......

...As a reader, I looked at this text as a revelation. This text gave me a sudden realization that I too share the same background as Tan and that I too have a mother tongue of my own. The text was very relatable in my perspective. Growing up, I've experienced events similar to the ones Tan spoke of. I remember my father being scolded by the owner of a deli across the street that he was stupid, cheap, and that he should go back to China based on his irregular English. I also remember my mother being turned away during parent teacher conference because the teacher simply did not want to bother with my mother's English. My mother and father was not taken seriously just like how Tan's mother was not either. Although I can relate to the author very much so and agree that language should not serve as a barrier to the way we try to understand or be understood by each other, many other people may disagree. Many people do not have thick and choppy accents like Chinese Americans. Not many have the ability to see the image that Tan is trying to convey: the idea of a language that speaks to all also known as her Mother Tongue. Tan also does not consider the fact that many people may not have their own Mother Tongue or that English may have been their first language. Therefore, they may not be able to understand that Mother Tongue is not simply, just another language. It is another language with structure and vocabulary, just like any other language. It seems that Tan......

...extremely cold evening winter in the severe highland. The wind blew fast made the dark sky become more dangerous and violent, but my mother was ready to set out again. Hardly did anyone know that where a female was going in such that weather. She was going to remote areas of the province to do her business, retailing commodities. At the age of 40s, my mother still had to work hard to earn her living and support our family. By her old bike with a lot of goods that maybe was out of her ultimate limit, my mother faced her new challenge alone but vigorously. There was no light outside, no stars, and no one, there was only winds still blew faster and faster towards my mother's sunburnt face. This moment of my mother' life that has been instilled in my mind has tremendously helped me in my spiritual, mental, and developmental upbringing. My mother actually is an ordinary woman but in her tiny appearance lies an extraordinary fortitude, perseverance, a altruistic soul and a very kindly heart. The kind of mother who brought me up with her whole kindly heart, the kind of persistent woman with strong willpower who had to face the toughest challenges in life, and the kind of person who always demonstrated great zeal for every unlucky lives without requiring anything in return and great willingness to help everyone's misery though she did not have much, my mother taught me more than any one else, not only inspired me the strength to overcome hardships in my life, but also left me......

The Abilities of an American Inventor

...Running head: THE ABILITIES OF AN AMERCAN INVENTOR The Abilities of an American Inventor GEN/200 Alice McBride David Swensen University of Phoenix The Abilities of an American Inventor At first glance it appears as though Philo Farnsworth, at a very young age, developed a natural ability to understand complicated concepts. At 14 years of age, Philo envisioned a way to create the all electronic television. Later, at 21, he was able, with the help of his wife and her brother, to build all the components, and assemble the first television. The time in between these two events seems to point to something other than just technical ability. Philo was able to create and also recognize opportunities. To most people, this may be more important. Most people will probably not invent anything at all, let alone something that has had the impact on our lives that television has, but we can all look back on our lives, and see opportunity that we have missed, or maybe a time we did not put forth the effort we should have. Philo’s ability to seize an opportunity is something we can all learn to achieve (Encyclopedia of World Biography, Thomas Gale, Edition 1, 1998). Philo Farnsworth was born in Indian Creek, near Beaver Utah, on August 19th, 1906. There was no electricity where Philo lived. Philo’s father, Lewis Farnsworth, would often discuss the technical aspects of such devices as the......

...Having a serious mother is quite beneficial for children to form their personality traits. They can learn how to become ethical people and be able to solve their problems independently under their mothers’ nurturing from when they are young. However, almost all children just want to have a good-natured mother who can smile gently and forgive them whenever they make mistakes instead of punishing them. How is your mother? If anybody asks me this question, I will answer that she is truly fantastic. Although being a serious mother, she has a nice appearance, terrific personalities, and interesting hobbies. First of all, my mother is actually ordinary, but she is a good-looking woman in my eyes. She is average height and has a spender shape. As a Vietnamese woman, my mother has a round face and long black straight hair which cascades over her back like a waterfall. She also has a sweet smell of lotus and smooth tanned skin. Unlike some other serious women, my mother usually appears with a sweet smile on her red lips that can make other people comfortable. Under her thin black eyebrows, there are dark brown penetrating eyes framed by long lashes. They seem to brighten my world whenever I look at her. Although my mother’s nose is not really tall, it is straight and thin, so it makes her facial structures harmonious. When she smiles, her face scintillates delight since her cheeks turn pink and two black pupils stretch out. My mother has a narrow and sloping shoulder that makes......
