...Jessica Riddle 7-15-13 Outline Intro: Hi my name is Jessica Riddle. I’m from Medway, Ohio which is a small town where everybody knows everyone. Trust me, I am so glad to have gotten away from that. My Mom has been raising me by herself since I was 12 due to the fact that my Dad passed away in 2007 because of liver cancer. I have two siblings, my sister, Anna, who is 23 and my brother, TJ, who is 24. I don’t talk to them though because they are weird and we don’t get along. Body: My high school life was tough, and it’s something I never want to experience again. The high school I attended was a career technical school in Springfield, Ohio. We ran a restaurant there for lunch service Tuesday-Friday. Also, we competed in state and national competitions for culinary and baking and pastry. While attending high school, I also worked at The Golden Jersey Inn at Youngs Dairy as a prep/catering cook. During the fall, I plan to intern at the Greenbrier in West Virginia. Then after I get my associates degree here, I plan to get my bachelors at CIA in New York for food science. I would like to someday work at Alinea or The French Laundry. I’m really inspired by Grant Achatz and Thomas Keller. Conclusion: I feel as though if I didn’t attend Springfield Clark Career Technology Center, I probably would have never came to Johnson and Wales. I have my instructors from there to thank for that, Chef Hay and Chef Scott. Coming to Charlotte has opened so many opportunities that I......

...time, imagine a hypothetical setting.  In addition, the Rubric details how you will be graded.  The Cover Page is due in Module/Week 3. * You will create an outline of each lesson in your study.  The main passages you must use come from the four Gospels; however, you are not restricted to one Gospel.  You may also refer to epistles from time to time, but do not make an entire lesson out of epistles, such as 1, 2, and 3 John; 1 and 2 Peter, etc. You should expositionally study the relevant Bible passages firsthand.  Investigate the Gospel narratives.  Observe, interpret, and apply the texts.  Illustrations are good, but don’t get carried away.  You must use at least 6 scholarly sources in your research, and you must properly format them according to Turabian style.  If you want to use Internet sources not found through the Liberty University Library (such as through Google), you must obtain permission from your instructor first. Within each outline you must include the following information: * The lesson introduction * The transitions and illustrations you will use * The lesson conclusion * Bibliography with the cited scholarly sources in Turabian format Once you have received feedback from your classmates (which takes place in Discussion Board Forum 5), finish your Lessons Outlines and submit them in one document within Module/Week 5.  The Rubric details how you will be graded.  Consult the Scholarly vs. Popular Sources document to......

The Outline

...The Outline Assignment Explanation: Before attempting to write a first draft, students should always create as detailed an outline as possible. This means you will have to think through your entire paper before you begin to write it. This is imperative given the required length of the Research Paper. Six to ten pages is not something you should try to intuitively write. If you try to “wing it” you will take much longer than you need to write the paper, and you will find it hard to keep on track. Your paper will feel disorganized and you will inevitably include irrelevant information. Here is the easiest pattern I can suggest for your papers: 1. You will need an introduction that introduces your topic, provides relevant background on your topic, and then transitions to your thesis statement. Your thesis should be a two-fold thesis statement. 2. In APA style, it is common to divide a research paper into different sections. These sections can be the arguments you make to prove your thesis. In English 101, you wrote five paragraph essays: an Introduction, three Body Paragraphs, and a Conclusion. The pattern was to have a thesis for which you made three arguments. Each argument was one of the three paragraphs. For English 102, simply take that pattern and expand it. What does that mean? If you have three main arguments to prove your thesis, each argument should be a section of the paper. The pattern is as follows: I. Introduction II. Section I ......

...an outline naturally organizes the information in a highly structured, logical manner, forming a skeleton of the textbook chapter or lecture subject that serves as an excellent study guide when preparing for tests. This method of note taking is extremely useful in most instances; however, in classes, such as math or chemistry, where a lot of formulas, graphs, or structures must be drawn, the outline method should be replaced with a better note-taking system. How to Use Write points in an organized manner based on space indentation. Place major points farthest to the left. Indent each more specific point farther to the right (level of importance is indicated by distance away from left margin). Advantages The outlining method emphasizes content as well as relationships between the material. Also, it reduces the time needed for editing and allows for easy reviewing. Disadvantages This method requires more thought for accurate, understandable organization and, therefore, cannot be used during lectures that move too quickly. Example How to study from an outline:    I. Read through one line at a time          A. Explain the information and connect the idea to others presented    II. Check the accuracy of the information    III. Add clue words          A. Jot down keywords or details that you didn’t originally include in the outline          B. Use these keywords to jog your memory when studying from the outline    IV. Recite information from the outline......

...Long Paper Outline Thesis: The Diagnostic and Statistical Manuel of Mental Disorders (DSM) is not an appropriate tool for psychiatrists when diagnosing mental disorders. Argument: The DSM is used in many psychiatry offices to diagnose their patients, but it fails to look at each individual case independently of the others. For example if a person shows symptoms of depression over a two week period, the DSM immediately categorizes them as having depression. This person might have depression but there are many other factors to take into consideration. In everyone’s day to day lives there will always be pain and sadness, but this does not mean that everyone is depressed. Someone could have lost of a loved one, changed their location of living or just had bad two weeks, but if they show the signs of depression the DSM immediately classifies them with depression and pushes for medication. Of course there a good number of times the DSM is correct but everyone is different and lives different lives. Another thing that the DSM does not do is realize that one symptom could be the symptom for many different disorders. For example if one goes to the doctor with a cough, the doctor realizes that there could be many different reasons for this cough and many different illnesses a person could have. According to the DSM a group of symptoms categorized under a disorder means those symptoms only mean that illness, nothing else. Why is it that illnesses with one’s brain is thought of as......

Conclusion: These are reasons why buying is better for most people. I sequence my paragraphs in this order, because it made the most sense to me. Starting with reasons why buying is better, why buying is cheaper than renting, things you can not do when renting, and there are some people who should not buy yet. Doing it this way insures my essay to have less mistakes and make more sense. I think this outline gives me a good start and will insurer I stay on topic and in sequence with the way they should be. Starting with reasons why buying is better than renting just seemed to be the way to start, and will keep the readers interest. This is very important when writing or the reader will not read your story. Showing the outline this way keeps the flow and the paragraphs will go good together. The last paragraph states...

...The first section of this report outlines the key features and characteristics of an oligopolistic market structure. An oligopoly market structure can be differentiated from others because it has distinct features such as competition among a few firms, high concentration ratio and barriers to entry, non price competition, differentiated products and high level of interdependence between firms. The report also outlines and describes why the UK detergent industry which is dominated by a few firms reflects the model of an oligopoly. Several real life examples have been used to confirm the theory of oligopoly. Moreover, the price rigidity observed in an oligopolistic industry has been explained by the kind demand curve theory. The second section of the report examines the case of price fixing by Procter & Gamble, Unilever and Henkel, who are major players in the detergent industry in Europe. It relates the concept of collusion and how it has led the firms to price fixing arrangements in the detergent industry. Finally the economic rationale why Henkel was not fined by the European Competition Commission has been discussed. Market structures may be generally categorised as the following: perfect competition, monopoly, oligopoly or monopolistic competition. These different types of market structures can be differentiated mainly by the number of competitors in a market and their market share. An oligopoly is a form of market structure that has few sellers that dominate the......
