I want you to know that, should you need to contact me outside these time frames, you should not hesitate to do so. | ASSIGNMENT SUBMISSION TIME: All written assignments are due on their due date by the beginning of the workshop in which they are due (6:00 p.m. Pacific Time) and must be submitted electronically to a student’s Assignment forum.Late Assignments Late work will not earn the full points possible. Students will lose 20% for each day the assignment is late. Please note that the assignments must be submitted before 6:00 p.m. on the due date.Assignment submitted after 6:00 p.m. or during the class session on the due date will be treated as one-day late. Assignments more than 4 days late will not be accepted.Technological issues are not considered valid grounds for late assignment submission. In the event of a University of Phoenix server outage, students should submit assignments to the instructor and when systems are restored, submit those assignments according to syllabus instructions. Unless an Incomplete grade has been granted, learner assignments submitted after the last day of class will not be accepted. Because Learning Team projects are outcome-based, all members of your Learning Team will generally earn the same grade for Learning Team projects. However, I reserve the right to report different grades for different Learning Team members if I see a substantial imbalance in individual contribution. Learning Teams should provide a brief summary of any communication held outside the forum. Therefore, if you hold conference calls, work in a real-time chat room, or get together outside the OLS (Online Learning System) environment in another way, please post a log, transcript, or summary in the Learning Team forum. Attendance at the scheduled on-campus class meetings is mandatory and eligibility for a course grade is determined according to the University’s attendance policy:Students enrolled in courses with five to nine workshops are allowed one absence and may still earn a grade other than “W.” The absence, however, may affect students’ course gradesPARTICIPATION:Participation in all workshops is required. An absence for whatever reason will result in the loss of ALL the participation points for participation that night. If a student is absent, he or she does not gain the benefit of class involvement and is not contributing to the learning of other students in the class. Please, notify the instructor in advance if you will be missing class.Please refer to the University of Phoenix policy regarding absences and attendance.CELL PHONES AND PAGERS:Out of consideration for others, please turn your cell phone and pagers to the silent mode. If they do not have a silent or vibratory mode, please turn them off. No texting is allowed while class is in session. These items tend to distract the other students during class discussions or learning team activities.USE OF LAPTOP COMPUTERS IN THE CLASSROOM:University of Phoenix encourages students to use their laptop computers in our Learning Centers for classroom research support. However, laptop computers should only be used for classroom-related activities during class time.LATE ARRIVAL/EARLY DEPARTURE: Late arrival or early departure will result in a loss of participation points. ...shady since I took both of them about four years ago, so that means I will just have to do some extra studying for this class. The next year after those I took a technical writing class and kind of enjoyed that. I learned how to write a resume and also how to format business letters. We also worked on mock interviews and learned that it is important on how you layout your resume when applying because it could show that you are more professional. I have always been such an independent person when it came to school work that I never really wanted to ask for any feedback from friends or family. I regret it now because I am sure that it would have made me a better writer if I would have had more criticism from people other than just the instructor. It is funny now to look back at some of the papers that I wrote in the past and see that if I would have just let somebody proof read it then I would have definitely made a better grade and not turned it in with so many simple errors. My goal is to change that habit and start asking for more feedback other than just the teacher. I have had several different writing teachers throughout my time as a student. My first English teacher in college basically just gave an A if I turned in my weekly research paper in on time and it filled up two sheets of paper.
