Human Resource Management Roles
The human resource department plays a very important role in any business and organization, it is essential for the success of the business and organization. The human resource department uses strategies to maintain the organizations success against its competitors. In this case, the human resource management's role in the health care industry assists in staffing, performance, career planning, and organizational structure (Gomez-Mejia, Balkin, & Cardy, "The Managerial Perspective," 2010).
The human resources department (HR) is responsible for filling the various positions in the health care system. Various employers are now finding job seekers through search engines like Monster.com, simplyhired.com and jobsearch.org to name a few. More recruiters are now using the internet to find prospective employees and screening them by using social networks such as Facebook and Twitter.
In addition, human resources are also responsible for providing in house training to their employees through traditional classroom seminars and online learning. Training allows advancement learning for employees. For example, in my company (AAA Insurance) we have at least 16 mandatory classes we have to take throughout the year. Classes include customer privacy, ethics, and other classes pertaining to my department and company as a whole. AAA human resources keep track of these classes through employee transcripts which are also available to the employee on line.
Organizational structure pertains to both reporting and operational relationships. Organizational structure includes several components such as departments or units, management hierarchy, rules, procedures and goals ("Organizational Structure", 2013).
