Research topics with explanation
I have selected three research topics that have interested me the most. The topics I have chosen are to evaluate and persuade people to believe as I do as well as educate people about the different views and ideas.
The first one that I selected stated; should the U.S. prohibit trade with countries that have poor records on human rights?“ The reason that this topic interested me is because it reminds the business world of its rules and regulations of trading regardless of the other countries laws. It targets the business people worldwide as well as business embassies. It is a very controversial topic because the international business has brought new challenges. Globalization includes corruption, poverty and security, three large issues for business that once restricted their expertise and distribution. Companies trying to expand are facing a concern with one thing in mind; taking a stand on human right conditions. No country has ever completely had a clean record on human rights. Every country contains poor practices and faces human rights challenges. You cannot set standards for others. If I were to do research I would use www.amnestyusa.org/ and http://www.humanrightsbusiness.org.
Moreover, another topic includes, should taxes on alcohol and tobacco be increased to help pay for rising medical costs. Topic seems interesting because you can talk about the challenges that alcohol and tobacco increase. It talks about your opinion on taxes in this area voicing your opinion. Raising taxes on unhealthy practices such as tobacco and alcohol will not discourage bad habits. Alcohol and tobacco are the leading cause of serious health problems; people are aware that the products can affect their health. Tobacco and alcohol are just another set of consumer goods. Two credible sources are…...

We use them every day in the government as we work toward going green, lower cost, increasing productivity. Since the migration to the virtual servers we were able to cut paper files by ¾. We use a digital contract file now instead of a 6 pile folder with hundreds of page. Another reason the army has choosing to go this way is so it can spread the cost of maintenance and repair across several customers with shared servers. This results in a lower price per base. Then there is the Virtual conference, which saves millions of dollar. Now you’re asking how this affect productivity does well with virtual contract files any base has access to them with save on efficiencies, be abilities to collaborate with like minds to gain more knowledge, also to form comradely. ...ESE 215 Introduction to Circuits and Systems Prepared by: The Task Group on ESE 215-205 N. Farhat, N. Engheta, J. Keenan, and V. Vuchic Background, Philosophy, and Motivation: Over the past few decades, the scope of electrical engineering (ESE in the context of our department) has expanded to a degree where the discipline risks effacement by diffusion [1]. This calls for hard thinking on how to reform traditional course offerings in our discipline in order to avoid incoherent bifurcations forced from the outside and to preserve its identity in view of profound changes taking place. We are not alone. Similar reforms are being discussed in physics education [2]. We as a relatively newly formed department of Electrical and Systems Engineering have had a head start in thinking about this issue recognizing that the challenge is to forge something better than the sum of its parts. This draft proposal is an attempt at reforming the present introductory Circuits and Systems course in our curriculum in order to partly meet this challenge. We have changed the course title to indicate that it will deal with “circuits and systems” concepts in a broader sense than the traditional electrical circuits alone. Our goal is that the course encompass electrical, optical (plasmonic), mechanical, fluidic, biological, neural, transportation, chemical, and ecological “circuits” and systems. Biochemical logic circuits using DNA-binding proteins, and bistable......

...UNIT 5 HUMA 215 DB Understanding and knowing what collective cultural heritage represents, you first must know what it consents of. Cultural heritage will usually include the signs and symbols passed on by, oral transmission, artistic and literary forms of expression, languages, and ways of life, myths, beliefs and rituals. From the beginning of life, began what we know as our cultural heritage. With the population growing, small groups slowly would detach themselves and travel to start a new community. Once the land was found they would settle down and start a new life. Over time the Western areas began to grow and soon they travel by sea to seek new land. Landing onto the New World the Spanish and later the Europeans had brought with them their own cultural heritage. Living in the New World the tribes also had their own ways of life plus their own cultural heritage. Meeting with the local natives the Western tried to learn some of their ways and in return they taught the natives their beliefs. With this it had opened a new window to our new world, as we know it today. With all mixed values and traditions from the Americans and the Western people we have a great nation that we call our home. Passed down from generation to generation, all the teachings that the ancestor once knew has now been imbedded into our cultural styles. We must teach the future generations how important culture heritage is for our survival. EX: In our government today there is a unit......

...English 215: Research and Writing Assignment 1: Research Topics With Explanation Professor Reagan January 16, 2013 There were many research topics that caught my attention, so choosing was a little difficult for me. The first topic I chose is “Should regulations be changed regarding genetically altering plants and/or animals”. This topic is a very serious matter to me, and I am taking it in the context that it is regarding genetically modified plants and animals that were intended to be used for food. I am a vegetarian and I do believe we all have the right to know what we are consuming. Genetically modified food can be dangerous, and by the time we find out how dangerous, it may be too late. The audience for this topic would be anyone who is health conscious, interested in animal rights, or just interested in knowing the truth about what they are really consuming. Two credible sources I would use to write my paper would be the Forbes article (http://www.forbes.com/sites/emilywillingham/2012/12/07/what-you-need-to-know-about-gm-foods-is-half-the-story/) and the Human Genome Project Information site (http://www.ornl.gov/sci/techresources/Human_Genome/elsi/gmfood.shtml) My preliminary thesis statement would be: “With such a strong focus lately in obesity and calorie consumption, it seems as if many people are becoming more aware of their health and eating habits. While a salad may be a very good option for a healthy diet, does anyone really know what has happened to......

...Case Study Analysis for ABC, Inc. COMM/215 UOP January 9, 2012 Korijna Valenti Introduction During my reach into the hiring issues at ABC Inc., it was found necessary to research and read more in today’s hiring process with the current job market. The following is an introduction of one specific company that recently requested a case study of a current internal hiring process that took place or did not take place. In this situation, a new campus recruiter was expecting to bring on 15 new hires to complete for orientation to work in the Operations department. When the operations supervisor contacted the new recruiter and checked on the status of the recruiting process, they were assured that all requirements would be in place. The recruiter went to finalize the necessary paper work that would typically be in place for new hire orientation, only to discover that there was not a defined process or checklist. Background Because Carl (the recruiter) was new to ABC Inc., he was under the impression there should be a plan of action defined for how to complete a new hire. With this, Carl should have first noticed a lack of organization in which there should be a process flow to take him from requisition, to recruitment and the matching up a candidate with the job opening. When he pulled out the new trainee’s files, it was discovered that some of the files did not have completed applications or transcripts and none of the trainees had been sent for a......

...COMM/215 CASE STUDY FOR STUDENT ANALYSIS There were two issues with Carl Robins, the new campus recruiter that ABC hired to help with hiring new trainees. One is lack of training, and the other is a lack of communication within the company. These are a couple of critical steps to having an excellent on-boarding process with a new employee. It is critical to not only the success of the new employee but for the company as well. The way a company trains and communicates the needs of the company to its new employee indicates the value they put in the individual that the company hired. If a company does not have an established training program and clear and open lines of communication with the trainees it puts less value in the trainee, and furthermore less value in the company. Background Carl Robins was hired for ABC, Inc to recruit new hires for the company. Successful in his efforts, Robins hired 15 new trainees for Monica in the operations department. However Robins was unsuccessful in getting the new employees the orientation schedule according to plan, due to lack of communication and lack of training for Carl’s position.
