Most people would say be careful, but no one can be certain at any given time. As long as people can know who you exactly are, then some can find ways to do you in.
Scams and Harassment
There is a potential for failure of security in both personal and business context. While many sites apply certain measures to keep any of these cases of harassment, cyber-stalking, online scams, and identity theft to an absolute minimum, you still may never know.
Time Consuming
If this is not your kind of thing, that it would just be a waste of time for you. The key to social networking is that it is supposed to be fun, whether you are just doing it for kicks or clicking around for business purposes. That should be reasonable enough for anyone, but there are those people who don't see the point. For them, it can be a disadvantage.
Now there is something to really think about. Nothing is without a blemish, but those of this type of networking shouldn't really be that much of a concern regarding your safety. As long as you go along without making big mistakes, then it is all good. You can take advantage of the Internet phenomenon that continues up to this day.
Once you understand the advantages and disadvantages of social networking, then you can cruise through without fail. http://www.everyday-wisdom.com/social-networking.html Nothing has changed the Web more than the rise of social networking sites. American Idols

...American Idols Corrupting Our Nation’s Youth September 19, 2013 ENGL 101 B12 Abstract I believe that the entertainment industry, all the idols are corrupting our nation’s youth. T.V helps to portray and idolize what the media wants the world to see. The T.V along with the media portrays how the youth should look, dress, and act; it has slowly conquered the minds of the youth. It also has taken effect in the lives of adults, mind controlling and programing the world to be a certain way. This has taken a toll on our communities and it has become harder to raise our children. Every magazine, T.V show, or music that we tune into is always about sex money and drugs. The media emphasizes how all three things are what are most important in this world and this is what will make you happy. T.V has corrupted the way our youth acts, dresses, and thinks. The main idea of all these advertisements on T.V do is promote doing drugs, being sexual, dressing promiscuously due to idolizing and even demonic oppression. This is a very serious issue that although we may feel is out of our control can be handled. There are numerous ways that the media affects the youth’s daily lives; it puts more pressure for them to be a certain way to fit in. Youth start prioritizing and practicing disgusting habits such as doing drugs, being sexual and dressing promiscuously because that is the way their idols are. If you take a look at just some of the images provided you can see that this is what our......

Television and Your Childs Mind

...important question, which is how much t.v is too much t.v for our children? The reason why this question should be given some thought is because television can affect a child’s mind in a way that could be negative or positive. What we most definitely do not want is a negative affect which results in long lasting to damage to your child or children’s development. For the most part in the early stages of a child’s development they are primarily visually stimulated and will be learning pretty much everything from what they see. So to be aware of what and how much your child or children are taking in is a number one priority. Another thing that I would suggest, being a parent of two is setting time limits like an hour or two a day of television daily. Nowadays there are so many different kinds of t.v programs for your children to watch that are suitable for them, for example “My Little Pony” and “Friendship is Magic.” When you child watch these kind of t.v shows they will be learning the importance of friendship and loyalty to one another. Another one of my viewer’s choice selection would be like “Dora the Explorer” and “Sesame Street” which teaches your youth how to say their alphabets, how to count, and how to spell. One show that is acceptable for children of all ages is the “Care Bears” because these bears have taught me and many others like me the power of caring, and sharing and kindness to others. The previous examples of acceptable t.v programs were all cartoons that......

Reality Tv

...Mariah Priester The Reality TV Phenomenon Many of us spend countless hours a week enjoying the shows that come on t.v. Years ago, television shows focused on the family, the strong bonds they shared, and building strong family ties. Shows like “The Brady Bunch”, “The Cosby Show” “Full House” and “Family Matters” were shows that could be enjoyed by the entire family. Today, television has taken on a new role, and it’s called “Reality T.V.” Reality TV are shows that observe real-life situations. They are t.v. programs that present real people in live, though often deliberately manufactured, situations and monitor their emotions and behavior. The industry now filled with unscripted dramas, makeover sagas, celebrity breakdowns, lifestyle-change shows, dating shows, talent searches and just about any kind of competition you can think of (and a few that you probably can't). In the fall 2007 season, there were more than a dozen reality shows in prime-time slots on major networks and cable channels. On any given night, you can watch "The Biggest Loser," "Dancing with the Stars," "The Real World," "I Love New York," "Beauty and the Geek," "America's Next Top Model," "Ultimate Fighter," "The Bachelor," "Run's House" or "Project Runway" -- to name just a few. Reality TV was created as an alternative to normal programs, and to boost channel ratings. Many shows were being cancelled due to low viewership. It has been since The Real World and Road Rules premiered on MTV......

...aren’t true. T.V. gives them a false image of what life is like and gets their hopes up only to see them fail and fall short. God is the truth and the only truth. So as leaders we must show that to students in a way that’s exciting and will not make them turn back to the social media ways of this world. Chapter 6 1. “Television does not extend or amplify literate culture. It attacks it.” (Page 84) • We should strongly stress this point to our students. You can’t grow in anything or gain anything from watching T.V. other than weight. Students growing in Christ and staying in the word will only amplify their literate culture. It’s time to tell students to drop the remote and pick up a bible. 2. “Television is our culture’s principal mode of knowing about itself.” (Page 92) • This statement is so true and yet very scary. We find ourselves wondering how we should live by going to the T.V. Never once do we try to go to the Bible anymore where the real truth is. This can be a good tool for students to realize. We have to learn that our identity is in Christ and not on a T.V screen. Chapter 7 1. “One can hardly overestimate the damage that such juxtapositions do to our sense of the world as a serious place.” (Page 105) • Television and everything thrown into it like commercials and music play such a role in how we see things. Most people tend to overlook this but it is so true. Deaths for example are so over exaggerated on T.V. everything......

Racism in the T.V. Show Lost

...than most American shows is because it is set outside of the United States, therefore a more diverse cast is called for. In addition, on international flights, like the one flying from Sydney to L.A. in Lost, there are often people from all over the world. The Lost cast does have a wide range of people and cultures, but not as many as you would expect. In the graph below you can see the racial statistic of the main cast on the show. Figure 1. Race Statistic in Cast of T.V. Show Lost As you can see, two-thirds of the cast is white. This doesn’t necessarily mean they are all American though, which they aren’t. There are two cast members from Britain and one from Australia, but even after considering country of origin, the percentage of white Americans on the show is disproportionate to what it should be if the show was trying to make the statistics realistic. This next graph shows the new percentages with ones country of origin is taken into account. Figure 2. Continent of Origin Statistics in the Cast of T.V. Show Lost In the chapter “What’s Your Flava?” in the book Interrogating Postfeminism, Sarah Bamet-Weiser explores the issue of race in terms of how it is displayed in the media, particularly to children and young adults. She gives an example of a new doll being sold to children called Flava’s. They racially eclectic, but unfortunately they go about promoting diversity in the wrong fashion. Instead of solely displaying just different racial groups, they play......

Digitalisation of Cable Tv

...MSOs to provide relevant information within a preset timeframe, the Edelweiss report said.     Cable TV digitalisation deadline put off by four months The much-trumpeted digitalisation of Cable TV services in four metros will now have to wait for four months beyond July 1, when it was originally scheduled to be introduced. The decision to defer the plan for switchover from analogue to digitalised signals was announced by the government today as it was found that the metros of Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai and Kolkata were not ready for it. "The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has decided to modify the 30th June deadline for a complete switch over to October 31, 2012," a statement issued by the I&B ministry today said. "All the TRAI regulations for Digital Addressable System will come into effect from 1st November, 2012," the statement added. It said that the assessment of ground realities, compelled the Ministry of I&B to set a new deadline which would now be monitored more vigorously. Digitalisation of the cable services in the entire country by December 2014 is one of the ambitious tasks that the I&B ministry has set for itself and the first step towards achieving this goal was its implementation in Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata and Chennai by June 30. Installing Set Top Boxes (STBs) in each cable viewing household is a precondition for Digitalisation and as per official sources even a fortnight before the June 30, it was estimated that only 30 per cent of......
