The differences between learning, education, training and development

The century, in which we live demands from us to be always in a hurry, it is a time of great competition, so we have to be ready to compete. The four main phenomenons which are very important in this century are learning, education, training and development, they are crucial, without them we cannot do anything for success.
I will try to explain the difference between these four terms.
“The bottom of learning is bitter but it will be sweet in a top” – said the great Georgian poet of twelve’s century – Shota Rustively, so in that time it was already known that learning was very significant. Learning and education have a great influence on an individual.
Learning, we can define as a process of gaining new skills, knowledge and values. The individual is learning from his birth till his death. From learning to talk, walk, run etc, to learning to operate a computer, fly a plane to learning to socialize, to lead a group, to move an idea....
Education, we get from school or university, education is related to classroom learning.
Learning is knowledge gained through experience and education is knowledge gained through teaching. "Education is an admirable thing, but it is well to remember from time to time that nothing that is worth learning can be taught." -- Oscar Wilde.
Training and development are interrelated terms, but there are many differences between them.
Training is the process of providing employees with specific competences or helping them correct deficiencies in their performance. Development is an effort to provide employees with the organizational will need in the future. Training is concerned with teaching specific, narrow things. Often takes place in groups and is an event that is called as workshops and seminars, training can also be…...

Difference Between China and Sub-Saharan in Economic Growth and Development

...Difference between China and Sub-Saharan in economic growth and development This essay will try to analyse the difference between China and Sub- Saharan region countries on the economic growth and development issue from an overall view. In order to contrast the different development and growth methods between china and a whole Sub-Saharan region of countries, the essay will introduce the solow model in order to simplify the analysis, because in order to conduct a precise research, too many factors need to be controlled, so introducing a model which can simplify but not change the fact is appropriate. The basic assumptions of the solow model remain unchanged in this essay because the first assumption of constant returns will stand as both China and Sub- Saharan countries are economy which are large enough “that the gains from the specialization have been exhausted” (D. Romer (2011), "Advanced Macroeconomics", McGraw–Hill, New York, 1996.). The second assumption which neglects other impacts on the economy development will be discussed in the later paragraphs like policy, population, human capital and so on. Figure 1. From a strategic prospective, employee training will become increasingly important during the 1990s because of the pressure to reduce costs and increase productivity. Many companies are finding that they can’t compete in the global market unless they boost productivity and invest in a better- trained and skilled workforce. Employee training is a key factor in improving levels of organization productivity. Therefore, it is important that the organization enable employees to upgrade their skills and knowledge to meet these changing conditions. Nowadays, any organization should adopt a systemic approach to training and development. Systemic training is that which is specifically designed to meet defined needs, followed by deciding what training is required to satisfy the needs. The next step is to find experience trainers to plan and implementing the program. Of course, follow up and evaluation is a must to ensure that it is effective. ...Training and Development Paper Michelle Andrews HCS/341 3/17/14 Instructor: Joanne Kronstedt Training and Development A good worker has the necessary tools to perform their job well. Employers have to provide training and development to ensure employees are working to their best potential. This paper will discuss the difference between training and development. It will explore why training and education are important in health care and the importance of measuring competencies. At last, it will describe the process for evaluating and tracking training effectiveness. Training and development are ways to increase the potential of employees but have two different meanings. Our text states training "provides employees with specific skills or helping them correct deficiencies in their performance" (Gómez-Mejía, 2010, p. 246). Employee training helps develop areas of incompetence or to teach them a skill needed to perform their job. For instance, an environmental service employee may receive CPR training to help in case there is an emergency. This does not mean the employee is going to become a nurse. On the other hand, development is "an effort to provide employees with the abilities the organization will need in the future" (Gómez-Mejía, 2010, p. 246). Development prepares an employee to accept a future position or promotion. Training and development can provide employees with the necessary tools they need to flourish in today's society, in which it is important to have...
