Time and Attendance

...witnessing a new kind of revolution—the Information Revolution—ushered in by technology. This revolution is far more sweeping than any other revolution in history in its reach and influence, bringing fundamental changes in all aspects of our life. Information technology is the use of computers and software to manage information. As computers grew in speed and capability, a number of general-purpose database systems emerged. In the present context, I have great pleasure in presenting “Factory Time Attendance Management System (FTAMS)” program. This program is used by factories of all sizes. The FTAMS works with RFID time attendance devices to manage working hours of employees recorded in the devices in order to pay their wages. FTAMS could protect a factory from payroll fraud and provide both employer and employees with confidence in the accuracy of their wage payments. The present system is necessarily providing a convenient, simple, and comprehensive program on managing the time and attendance system for the benefits of employees and the factory. I wanted to take this opportunity to welcome you to your education. Writing this book has been a lot of fun for me and I sincerely hope that you get a lot out of it. I have tried to be balanced in presenting both the advantages and disadvantages of some of the new ideas. I encourage you to adopt a similar open and critical stance when reading this book. Of Passion and Calling

...pursue higher education. So why am I seeking admission to graduate school? Just two things: my passion and a calling. Passion – it is the inert force in any human being that drives them to pursue their dreams and goals. Passion is a very strong feeling towards something, which, in my case, would be children. From high school to college years, I have seen myself to be very passionate about children. Children of the youngest ages, may they be a fast learner or slow learner; may they obedient or stubborn. I have found myself volunteering to take care of other people’s children or playing with them while others scour at this task. This passion that I have for children is my main reason on why I am applying for a major in Teaching for Early Grades.   The second one, a calling, is actually a realization that I have recently found. From college to now, my best skill at work would be to educate others, no matter what profile my audience is. With these two things in mind, I mustered up enough courage that I have to look for a degree in higher education. That is why I am writing about why I am pursuing admission for graduate study. Of course, nothing will ever beat my own Alma Mater in providing the quality education I would like to have (as well as the budget which I can work around with). The decision I made to seek graduate school is for my future plans to put up my own pre-school, so that I may be given chance to partake knowledge to young ones.   With this, I deeply......

Automated Attendance Monitoring System

...CHAPTER I INTRODUCTION Background of the Study Student absences jeopardize student and school success. Academic achievement scores are correlated with school attendance. Students who are not at school cannot receive instruction. Excessive school absence is a precursor of school dropout and is related to juvenile delinquency. And, because average daily attendance rates are a common determiner of school funding, absences mean that schools have less resources to do the job. Given all this, it is not surprising that reducing school absences is a top priority for many schools. (http://smhp.psych.ucla.edu) Now-a-days intelligent automation has stepped its presence in every field all over the world. This project has a stepping in the attendance and power management of the classrooms in the colleges/schools. The use of low cost technologies for highly reliable applications with the help of newly innovated algorithms makes the automation process to reach the consumers at cheaper and reliable cost. (http://www.muxtronics.com) The widespread of embedded computer networks as part of everyday peoples’ lives is leading the current research towards smart environments and Ambient Intelligence (AmI). AmI is a new information paradigm where people are empowered through a digital environment that is “aware” of their presence and context and is sensitive, adaptive and responsive to their needs. Calling Home

...“Calling Home” by Jean Brandt Assignment This story takes place around Christmas time when Jean was a thirteen year old girl. On this particular day, Jean was filled with happy, joyous emotions. She loved Christmas time and her grandmother was in town visiting for the holidays. Jean, her grandmother, her brother Louis, and her sister Susan were out at the mall for some last minute Christmas shopping. They sang carols, chattered, and laughed the whole way there. They were really in the holiday spirit. While at the mall, Jean came across a popular Snoopy button for 75-cents but knew she was supposed to be shopping for presents for other people so she couldn't decide whether or not she would still get the button. She asked her sister and her sister gave her the OK. Once Jean got a glance of the cashier lines, she began to rethink whether or not she wanted to wait in such a long line for something that only cost 75-cents. She ended up deciding she did not want to wait so she walked back to the basket where she got the pin from and instead of dropping it back in the basket, she slipped the button in her pocket. The first few moments she was very hesitant because her conscience had set in and she had never stolen before. She began to head towards the entrance and her heart began to race uncontrollably. The faster her heart raced, the faster she walked which shows how fearful she was. However, once she made it out the store, she felt relieved and actually referred......

Attendance Monitoring

...energy / power. Till now the company is successful since its establishment. Scope and Limitation: The study focuses on the monitoring of attendances of the employees in World Citi Colleges. The attendance monitoring system is concerned in getting the time when a student and employees logs in and out and whether the employees and students is present or not. Flow of the Current System: This system handles their attendance by using time cards and Bundy clock. The time card holds a lot of information about the employee and students. The Bundy Clock is the one that puts the time when the employee and students checks in or out. First an employee and students is given a time card which holds their attendance information. They insert their time card into the Bundy clock which holds the time. After they have finished their work, they should insert again their time cards into the Bundy clock for the information when and what time they left the campus or school. The computation of hours work is done after the last employee or students checks out of the campus or school, they do this by checking the log in and log out of the time card of an employee and student and compute for the working hours on that certain day. Data Managed by the Current System: There are a lot of data that the company keeps for reports. And attendance is one of the most important things that the company should monitor. Employee information is needed for the company to know the background of......

Attendance System

...records of attendance from falling out of popularity. Not that people are afraid of going through changes, and certainly not because there aren’t any other alternatives, but only because no one has cared. In reality, this method is fast becoming obsolete; in fact that time is already now. So in contrast with this modern day and age, when most tasks have long since been automated, many may even call this approach still being used in school today as history. The paper method was convenient for a while until it became such a clutter just keeping them. Also, this type of record-keeping is not the most reliable as they are in constant danger of being damaged and being lost in passage or in handling. Records in paper can be cheated too –and trees could have been spared for more reasonable purposes especially when their numbers are thinning down. Manufacturing is more efficient and faster than ever. Not so long ago the components needed for automating the most common systems were being produced in a much slower pace than in today’s standards, which explains too why the cost was higher back then. But nowadays the production shows no sign of slowing down; it is even increasing exponentially. On the other hand, the prices drop down and the demand grows in scale. Thus the same will be true for automating an access and attendance monitoring system: it is not as expensive as one might think. Also it is appropriate in this generation of students that attendance keeping is...

My Calling

...My Calling Imagine a pro baseball game. The fans are cheering, the players are focused, and the kids are excited to be at a the game. Ushers walk the aisles selling peanuts and popcorn as the smell of food drifts through the seats. People all over the world play this magnificent sport. Baseball is the best sport of all time because you get to work on a team and you do not need to be a pro to play it. The sport of baseball has an informative history. Alexander Cartwright invented baseball in 1845. The only thing you have to do to play baseball is know the rules. The history of baseball is not only interesting to know but also helps people understand the game. Playing the game is one thing, But knowing it is another. Knowing the game is all I ever wanted to do. Now that i understand it I know I can do better than I already am. In this sport being a team player is essential. The cool part of baseball are the drills. It is fun because you all work together. Most people think its all about winning, but to me its all about having fun. This game would not work without players working together as a team. I am not the best player out there but if i can work hard enough I know I can at least be noticed and that’s all I want. Muhammad Ali said “I hated every minute of training, but I said, 'Don't quit. Suffer now and live the rest of your life as a champion.'” Ever since that quote all I think about is Baseball. Calling

...“What can you see?” asked the person at the other end of the line. “I mean, really. Where are you?” Gloria hung up. You weren’t supposed to hang up. When Gloria went for the job at the call centre she was shy. She tried to make herself shrink. She wore a loose black top, a dark brown skirt and flat shoes. The call centre was a square box between roundabouts on the edge of a ring road just outside Newcastle. It was clever, she thought, the way it seemed to have no windows when in fact from the inside you could see out. If Gloria stood up she could see some bullocks in a narrow field. She liked the way they changed position, arranging themselves like compositions for her benefit, sometimes running up and down the field shaking their young wild heads. It was unusual to have a view in this kind of work. Most people sat in cubicles, boxed in by thin screens. The job interview had been hurried and officious. So many people didn’t stay, the interviewer said. What were her plans? “I’ve left school,” she said, “my family is here. I’ve got no plans to go anywhere.” The truth was she didn’t know. She had passed exams. She could go to university if she wanted, but she couldn’t imagine sleeping in a narrow bed in a strange town. Her parents told her to take things slowly, to take a year to think about what she wanted, to dream a little. Friends from school were going to Mexico, to dig ditches in China, build schools in Malawi, but Gloria had never been on an aeroplane, and she was...

Gods Calling

... Gods Calling Where do I believe God is calling me? Wow, that’s a tough one. I think that God is calling me to so many things that it’s hard to pinpoint exactly where He is leading me. While I am still uncertain about what God wants for my life job wise, I am absolutely positive that he wants me to be a mother. I have known since I was a little girl that growing up and being a mom seemed like the best job in the entire world. It still seems like the best job in the entire world. While I know that being a mother is a ton of work, I feel as if that it is fun work being with a human life you created. That is another part of being a mother that I think is amazing, you have created a living breathing human being inside of you for 9 months. Not just that, but this baby you have created his part of you. You have this baby that you have given part of your genetics too. I remember being a little girl carrying around a baby doll, thinking I wish this were a real baby. I love the thought of being a nurturer to a baby. When I picture my life down the road I know that I will have a family. I see about 5 little ones running around the house causing a ruckus. I think the fact that I live with my grandparents has made me want to be a better mother then the one I did not have. I also think the fact that I did not having siblings growing up makes me want my children to have siblings even more. I would rather their ages be near each other than farther apart, so they can grow up together.......

Attendance

...Arun Kumar Mishra and Debidutt Acharya, “WIRELESS FINGERPRINT BASED STUDENT ATTENDANCE SYSTEM” , 2010. Biometrics is the very study of identifying a person by his/her physical traits that are inherent and unique to only the person concerned. Biometric measurement and assessment include fingerprint verification, iris recognition, palm geometry, face recognition etc. The above mentioned techniques work with different levels of functionality and accuracy. Accuracy and reliability are the two most important parameters when it comes to biometric applications. Fingerprint verification is one of the oldest known biometric techniques known but still is the most widely used because of its simplicity and good levels of accuracy. It’s a well known fact that every human being is born with a different pattern on the fingers and this feature is exploited to identify and differentiate between two different persons. The application in an educational institute is worth noting because of the benefits it brings along with it. The fingerprint recognition and verification technique can easily replace an attendance sheet and save time wasted on calling out roll numbers in the class. A fingerprint detecting device needs to be placed in each classroom and students would be made to swipe their finger over the sensor so as to mark their presence in the class. The database would contain all the fingerprints beforehand. So, the moment a finger would be swiped, a check......
