The production process of Lew-Mark baking company in making cookies is automatedwhich makes their production efficient, cost and time saving. Efficient in a way that theclerical errors which are attributed to human limitations are omitted. Their production isalso cost saving for the reason that the labor cost and wastages are reduced. Finally, it istime saving because they use machines in producing their product.

The two ways that increased the productivity of the company were: first, they made thecut of their cookies diagonally. The diagonal-cut cookies require less space of space thanstraight-cut cookies. Second, the company increased the length of each oven by 25 feet,which also increased the rate of production. Increasing the length of the ovens result in afaster output rate because it has a larger capacity that is capable of producing morecookies in a single batch of production.

Yes, they don’t need to automate the packing procedure because they don’t have a highlabor cost. The obligations that a company has to its employees are to provide work andto compensate them in order to sustain their needs and to decrease the unemployment ratewithin their community which will have a positive impact in their economy. Yes the sizeof the town is a factor. The larger the city, the more potential buyer there is. In addition tothat, the larger the company, the more facilities will be available to accommodate moreequipment that could be use in the production.4.The factor that caused Lew-mark to carry minimal amounts of certain inventories are:First, the cookies has a limited shelf life. Second, other inventories are subject to FDAlabel requirements which changes periodically. The benefits that they could get fromsuch policy are cost saving from small inventory storage and labels that they can’t usedue to changes on FDA requirements…...
