Spiritual Asssessment

...Spiritual Needs Assessment Grand Canyon University Spirituality in Health Care HLT-310V January 11, 2013 Spiritual Needs Assessment Spirituality plays an important role in people’s life and there is a correlation between spirituality and health outcomes. Health is a complete state of harmony of the body, mind and spirit. So taking care of patients’ spiritual need is as important as physical needs. Importance of spiritual care over physical care can also be seen in the bible verse “Physical training is good, but training for godliness is much better, promising benefits in this life and in the life to come” ( 1 Timothy 4:8, Holy Bible). One of the studies by Dr. Anandarajah & Dr. Hight (2001) has shown that 94 percent of patients believed that their spiritual health is as important as physical health and 77 percent of patients wanted their health care provider to assess their spiritual needs when admitted in the hospital. Joint Commission also requires the hospitals to include spiritual assessment as part of the overall assessment of the patient . Joint Commission does not provide with an assessment tool, but provides with certain guide lines for creating assessment tools depending on the organization and type of patients served. Using these guidelines the author develops an assessment tool and completes spiritual assessment on one of the patient in her hospital, to identify the needs, hopes, resources and possible outcomes regarding spirituality and determine......

...or her individual progress. When teachers have constant feedback, they are able to carefully plan their lessons to meet the needs of each student. Comprehensive Assessment and Accountability System: Standardized testing should be just one piece of an innovative, comprehensive assessment and accountability system student Meaningful and Differentiated Assessment: Achievement should be measured by assessments instruments other than standardized tests. We need a more sophisticated assessment system that places less emphasis on standardized assessments and incorporates more meaningful assessment data at the school level, such as portfolio assessments, demonstrations, oral presentations, and applied projects (Robertson, 2009) Performance Asssessments: In California, 30 school districts have turned their attention to mathematics assessment. Through the Silicon Valley Mathematics Assessment Collaborative, these districts created a performance assessment system that goes beyond multiple-choice questions to require students to demonstrate problem solving, explain their thinking, and justify their findings. A multiple-choice exam could not duplicate this rich picture of student performance. Moreover, because the assessments provide specific information about student learning needs, they guide professional development, inform instruction, and lead to changes in teaching strategies. My Dreams

...PERSONAL ASSESSMENT GROWTH PLAN | ORGANIZATIONAL BEHAVIOR (BUS 5450) | ABIOYE TOLULOPE | PERSONAL ASSSESSMENT AND GROWTH PLAN A convenient starting point for a discourse of this nature would, expectedly, be to provide a brief sketch of my background. My formative years of knowledge- acquisition were spent at various educational institutions in Nigeria. Specifically, between the year 2004 and 2008, I was at the University of Ibadan, Oyo State for degree program leading to the award of Bachelor of Science in Geography. My inquisitive and adventure loving nature steered me easily to the sciences. I chose to study Geography because the earth in itself provides an immeasurable source of instantaneously occurring mysteries. I then went ahead to start my career in sales at a reputable Telecommunications company in Nigeria. After four years mastering the art of sales I decided a career change or at the least career advancement was needed to succeed in this competitive world, hence my decision to pursue a Masters in Business Administration to hone my analytical skills. There are various principles that shape my vision, goals, path and my life’s journey. Amongst the factors that drive me is a passion for excellence, excellence in everything I set out to do however minute the task is. The need to be a pacesetter, a trail blazer, someone that questions the status quo is inherently ingrained in me. Also, having an acute dislike for mediocrity is another factor that has an impact......
