There have been many people who have influenced various aspects of my life and career; based on their values, characteristics and commitment. Out of all the people that I’ve encountered, the person that stands out the most, who has influenced me in a positive way; has been my first “Supervisor”.
In the five years that I have known and reported to her, she helped me to enhance my attributes in financial reporting within the healthcare company we worked for. One of my responsibilities was to analyze the finances and report them to senior management. During my tenure with my supervisor; she taught me how to navigate and understand the process of the financial reporting within the healthcare company, relative to our work. Nonetheless, with this new knowledge and understanding; my reporting was much more structured, precise and accurate.
As a result, this has impacted my career throughout the healthcare industry and has since made me more successful.

Paragraph #2:

Purpose: Share an Opinion
Write a complete paragraph about the advantages and disadvantages of taking online classes. Use specific ideas and examples to illustrate your points and make sure to refer to the Paragraph Structure chart located at the end of the Unit 4 Reading. Include a topic sentence, supporting details and a conclusion (minimum 5 complete sentences).

There are some advantages and disadvantages for online education. Balancing career and family life can both be rewarding and detrimental to a student’s continuing education. In other words, online learning works very well for some students, and not so great for others.

The advantage of an online education will give the student both time and geographical flexibility in dealing with their busy lifestyles while learning in any location. This is great for working people and parents with young children. Also, online classes do not require commuting, thus saving both gas money and time. However, in a traditional class room setting, the student’s schedules are prearranged. A student is expected to physically attend classes and just dedicating that time is impossible.

A huge disadvantage is the lack of direct interaction with the instructor. In a traditional classroom you have the opportunity to hear questions and participate in direct interactive classroom discussions with both faculty and students. Many students may not do as well due to the lack of direct contact and interaction from their instructors. Another disadvantage is the mandatory efficiencies in managing their time. Online students are fully responsible for learning on their own time and schedule, however, for the students that procrastinates; an online education may be detrimental for them.

The student that participates in online studies must be able to stay focus and maintain many different perspectives in balancing their education, work and family.…...

Business Strategy

...Although environmental issues influence all human activities, few academic disciplines have integrated green issues into their literature. As society becomes more concerned with the natural environment, businesses have begun to modify their behavior in an attempt to address society's "new" concerns. Some businesses have been quick to accept concepts like environmental management systems and waste minimization, and have integrated environmental issues into all organizational activities. One business area where environmental issues have received a great deal of discussion in the popular and professional press is marketing. Terms like "Green Marketing" and "Environmental Marketing" appear frequently in the popular press. Many governments around the world have become so concerned about green marketing activities that they have attempted to regulate them. One of the biggest problems with the green marketing area is that there has been little attempt to academically examine environmental or green marketing. This paper attempts 1) To introduce the terms and concepts of green marketing; 2) To discuss why going green is important; 3) To know why the manufacturers and marketers launch eco-friendly products 3) To examine some of the reason that organizations are adopting a green marketing philosophy; and 4)To mention some of the problems with green marketing. GREEN MARKETING The concept of ‗green marketing‘ is the business practice that considers consumers concerns with regards to......

Business Strategy

...Business Strategy at the Organizational Level The purpose of this paper is to discuss the development of business strategy at the organizational level; the definition of this focus is the strategy that drives missions, goals and competitiveness at the policy level. Preliminary findings indicated that in the current organizational environment of market globalization, rapid technological change, shortened product life cycles, and increasingly aggressive competitors, dramatic changes are occurring with respect to the way work is done – these elements dictate the way that goals and strategies are assessed, determined and implemented. I spoke with Mr. Joseph Black, CEO of the company for which I work; we are a financial consulting business that also provides accounting and business strategies for corporate and high income individuals. Mr. Black stated that the partners realized early on that they could not provide all the information that a business would need, and so determined to provide consultation and services though strategic alliances with individuals and entities that could provide a mix of services. My company began as a bookkeeping and accounting firm, and then decided to expand its core competencies, based on the knowledge they obtain from working with the clients and the ability to recognize the clients’ financial needs. For example, the accountant works with a company and is very aware of, and familiar with, the way the company does business, its plans for......

...November 20, 2011 Academic and Professional Success UNIV103-1104B-276 My Foundations Labs lets you evaluate your academic foundational skill set so you can self-motivate to enhance your strengths and strengthen your weak areas. We completed sections in Math, Reading and Writing in My Foundations Lab. I completed assignments in Math, Reading and Writing sections of My Foundations Lab. I started off by first doing the Reading section of the assignment first. I chose this section first since I thought it would be my stronger section. I then went on to the writing section and then last did the math section since I thought this would be my toughest section. I really enjoyed completing these assignments in the My Foundations Lab. It gave me a sense of where I was and what I needed to work on and really was a big refresher for me. I like the process it takes of letting you complete the work then identifying your weak spots then creating additional work to focus on your weak areas. My strengths were in the reading section of the course and my weakness was in the writing section. I was really surprised by the results. I thought that the math section would be my weak point. I am planning on retaking the writing section of this course to try and better myself and also complete the learning path modules. I think by doing this it will make me a stronger writer and help me with my career. I might have gotten distracted during that section and want to retry. ......
