My neighbour gave me my first set of paints when I was about five. I was staying with her while my parents were at the hospital with my younger sister after she stuck a pen in her eye. I spent quite a lot of time with my neighbour as my sister was accident prone and always up to mischief. The paints were a million times better than crayons or pencils.
Almost forty years later, I still love painting and my sister is only slightly less accident prone than she used to be.
I work in watercolour, starting with an ink drawing and am really quite obsessed by tiny detail. The smaller I need to paint something, the more excited I am by the challenge. Have a look at the burger van in the Arsenal picture!
As for favourite subjects – buildings and people have always held a fascination for me. This has given me the focus for painting places that have an emotional pull, such as my match day illustrations.
Thank you for visiting my website and I hope you enjoy looking at my work.
